AHDRA ANNOUNCES ADDITONAL HALF-HOUR BONUS ON ESPN2 FROM THE JIMS LAS VEGAS NATIONALS

WINSTON-SALEM, NC, November 25, 2003 - It was jam-packed action at The Strip in Las Vegas on October 18th and 19th at the JIMS Las Vegas Nationals, home of the 2003 AHDRA series finale. And the excitement redoubled when AHDRA announced that two half-hour shows are currently in production for airing on ESPN2 in December. Get show dates.

AHDRA's original plans were to broadcast one half-hour of coverage from the finals in Las Vegas.The opportunity for additional coverage became available, however, and with the demand for more AHDRA racing on the airwaves, another show has been added to cover the championship finals from The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Lisa Cranfill, Media Director for AHDRA, says this is a genuine opportunity for both the sanction and the many fans following the sport. "We are always looking for additional exposure for AHDRA racing, and television is certainly a valuable marketing tool, especially when it comes from a broadcasting giant such as ESPN2."

AHDRA's 2003 broadcast agreement included coverage from eight events in the National Championship Series, with seven of them being packaged with ESPN2's Inside Drag Racing and a half-hour standalone show from the JIMS Las Vegas Nationals.

With the addition of the "bonus" show, the JIMS Las Vegas Nationals will now receive at least three confirmed airdates in December.

The first installment from the Vegas finals will air on December 14th at 10:30 p.m. The second will air on December 17th at 4:30 p.m. and will be repeated on December 24th at 4:00 p.m.

"The Sunday (10:30 p.m.) prime-time scheduling was the icing on the cake," Cranfill added. "This is an exceptional time period on a network with such a full broadcast schedule. The December 24th airing is also a highly rated time slot with a majority of viewers at home during the holidays."

AHDRA plans to announce news in the coming weeks on the 2004 season coverage that is set to begin March 2nd and 3rd in Gainesville, FL.

Coming up on Sunday, November 30th, ESPN2's Inside Drag Racing will feature AHDRA's Joker Machine Indy Nationals held September 20th and 21st at Indianapolis Raceway Park.
