RECORD BREAKING PERFORMANCES HIGHLIGHT THE SCREAMIN' EAGLE PERFORMANCE PARTS NATIONALS AT ROCKINGHAM DRAGWAY ON OCTOBER 14TH AND 15TH
Winston-Salem, NC, October 27, 2006 - The national record charts saw huge changes after a stellar weekend at Rockingham Dragway that netted sixteen record-breaking performances at the Screamin' Eagle Performance Parts Nationals presented by Drag Specialties.
Screamin' Eagle Top Fuel
Those record marks included the quickest and fastest Screamin' Eagle Top Fuel numbers to date. Doug Vancil of Albuquerque, NM clocked a 6.23 for the brand new E.T. mark, while Jay Turner of Burlington, NC blazed the track at 224mph for the new record.

Entering Rockingham, the Top Fuel marks were Doug Vancil's 6.309 and the 221.56mph from Mike Romine-both records that were set in 2005.
By the end of qualifying day, three riders had broken those marks including Romine's 6.29 and a better 221.78mph mark. Tracy Kile of Hatfield, PA came out with a 6.27 to improve the record number before Vancil finished the day with the top record-breaking number at 6.24.
Romine summed up qualifying day best when he remarked that he broke an E.T. and MPH record during the session and qualified 3rd!
In all, twenty-two bikes attempted to get in the 16-bike field and it took better than a 6.79 to stay in the field.
On elimination day, Vancil backed up the 6.24 number with a 6.26 opening pass to advance while Jay Turner came out with a 6.27 at 224mph for the new MPH mark to move on to round No. 2.
Romine ended his day in the 2nd round with a loss to Larry "Drums" Brancaccio of Nutley, NJ. Romine left the event with a new 1/8th mile record mark at 208.39mph and maintains his lead in the championship standings.
Vancil advanced on to the semis where he closed out the E.T. record breaking weekend with the 6.23, but amazingly lost the round when Jay Tuner grabbed a huge hole shot (.101 to Vancil's .235) to take the round win with a 6.31 at 217mph.
Turner was back in the final for the 2nd consecutive event in both Top Fuel and Pro Fuel categories.
He took on Brancaccio in the Top Fuel final and won the round with a 6.32 at 221mph over Brancaccio's 6.43 at 215mph—making it a back-to-back Top Fuel event win for Turner and the Mancuso H-D team.

| JIMS Pro Fuel
In JIMS Pro Fuel, Jay Turner was the man to beat again, qualifying No. 1 with a 6.61 at 207mph in front of John Breckenridge who clocked a 6.73 at 210.41mph for the new Pro Fuel MPH record.
The top qualifiers, Turner and Breckenridge met up in Sunday's final round where Turner slowed to a rare 8.31 while Breckenridge of Sultan, WA interrupted Turner's chance at repeating double nitro wins with a 6.65 at 209mph for the win.
With the win from Breckenridge, he has narrowed the point's margin between himself and current leader, Armon Furr in the championship standings. This title will now likely be decided at the finals in Las Vegas.

| Kresto Pro Drag
In Kresto Pro Drag competition, Dale Nungesser, a former Top Fuel champion, took the field by storm, qualifying No. 1 with a 7.38 at 169mph. Rick Moore of Reading, PA was 2nd with a 7.41 at 172mph.
In the elimination final's it was Nungesser and Moore battling it out for the win. Nungesser of Belle Plaine, KS had the early advantage with a .098 start against Moore's .158, but Moore brought on the horsepower and took the win light with a 7.29 at 170mph to a 7.66 at 166mph from Nungesser.
The win moved Moore and the Mid-Continent race team to the lead spot in the championship standings in front of Willie Herschberger.

| S & S Pro Gas
In S & S Pro Gas, point's leaders Mike Lozano and Joe Sternotti found themselves qualified in the 4th and 5th spots while Dirk Higgins and Dale Raudenbush were qualified 2nd and 3rd.
The top spot went to Connie Cohen with an impressive 7.15 at 182mph quickest and fastest pass. Cohen of Bristol. CT is an NHRA Pro Stock competitor and joined the AHDRA field for her 2nd event of the season.
In the opening round on Sunday, Cohen took on another AHDRA female competitor, Karen Wagner of Escondido, CA where she advanced to round No. 2 where she defeated point's leader, Mike Lozano.
On the other side, Dale Raudenbush of Old Zionsville, PA advanced over a wounded pass from Dirk Higgins to pair up with Cohen in the final.
With near identical reaction times, Cohen took the win with a .048, 7.12 at 183mph over a .046, 7.46 at 174mph from Raudenbush.
Cohen was elated with the win that marked her personal best performance and her first AHDRA win. She later stated that she hopes to add to her accomplishments by qualifying in the tough NHRA Pro Stock field.

| Samson Pro Modified
Junior Pippin of Conyers, GA stands to take his 3rd consecutive championship title in Samson Modified racing.
Pippin earned the No. 1 qualifying spot with a close to the E.T. record 8.07 at 158mph, while Eddie Lee took the 2nd spot with a 8.18 at 157mph.
Lee, a Georgia native himself, was coming off his first win in Virginia and made his way to the finals against Pippin.
Pippin was off the line first with a .015 to a .045 from Lee and rode to the win with an 8.11 at 154mph against an 8.25 at 157mph from Lee.
Pippin finished the weekend with a new 1/8th mile E.T. mark at 5.060.

| G2 Street Pro
With PA rider, Andy Simon's remarkable performances this year in G2 Street Pro, what else could he do to improve -but reset the record marks- again! He indeed did just that on his way to another win.
Simon qualified No.1 before besting the Street Pro E.T. marks in round one of eliminations with a nice 8.500 at 153mph.
He advanced through the field to take on the No.2 plate holder, Zach Johnson in the finals.
Although Johnson was off the line first with a wheel standing, .092 to a .108 from Simon, the power from Simon's machine charged on for the win with an 8.52 at 155mph to a 10.73 at 99mph from Johnson.
Simon, who has a firm grip on the 06-championship title, also recorded a new 1/8th mile record mark at 5.474.

| S & S 124 Challenge
In S & S 124 Challenge racing, Mike Roberts of Clinton, OH took the top qualifying spot with a 9.36 at 141mph in front of Lou Gerencer's 9.59 at 141mph.
The top two qualifiers met in Sunday's final round where Gerencer of Elkhart, IN gained an early advantage from a sleeping .450 reaction from Roberts and rode to the hole shot win with a .141, 9.62 at 137mph to a 9.50 at 140mph from Roberts.
Roberts came away with a new 1/8th mile E.T. record mark at 5.942.
SSC 124 Challenge point's leader, Michael Ray qualified at the bottom of the pack with problems from his ride and was unable to compete in the field on Sunday.

| Screamin' Eagle V-Rod
Lou Gerencer advanced to a 2nd final at Rockingham Dragway, this time in the Screamin' Eagle V-Rod category.
He would take on Jamie McNaughton, the reigning champ who is in line for a back-to-back championship title.
McNaughton, of Milwaukee, WI qualified No. 1 with a 9.31 at 143mph in front of Gerencer's 9.39 at 142mph.
Prior to the final round meeting between the pair, McNaughton grabbed new E.T. record marks in the semi final round with a 9.248 pass to advance while Gerencer grabbed a new MPH record with a 145mph pass to advance and thus setting up a final of the quickest and fastest V-Rods.
In the close final, it was McNaughton crossing the stripe first with a 9.32 at 141mph to a 9.37 at 139mph from Gerencer.
McNaughton who leads the standings, also recorded the new 1/8th mile E.T. mark at 5.889 and Gerencer recorded the 1/8th mile mark at 120.72mph.

| Screamin' Eagle V-Rod Destroyer
In the Screamin' Eagle V-Rod Destroyer category, Michael Ray may have had problems in the SSC 124 class, but he was on top of his game riding the Destroyer.
In fact, Rockingham Dragway proved to be a perfect fit for many of the H-D factory released bikes competing in the field.
Heading into Rockingham, the record stood at 9.216 at 142mph, set by Don Stratton, Jr. in June.
By the end of qualifying day, five riders including Michael Ray, L.E. Tonglet, Brian Fox, Julia Holliday and Stratton himself had bettered the 9.216 mark.
Ray, of San Antonio, TX took the top spot with a 9.085 at 143.44mph before opening on elimination day with the brand new record marks at 9.036 at 145.66mph to advance.
Getting close to that record number was Douglas Horne (#6 qualifier) of Aberdeen, MD with a 9.098 at 143mph to advance.
Both Ray and Horne made their way though a field that started with 34 riders to the final round.
Ray was off the line first with a .036 to a .044 from Horne before he rode to the win with a 9.13 at 137mph to a 9.21 at 142mph from Horne.
Ray, who also recorded the new 1/8th mile mark at 5.726, is out front in both the Destroyer and SSC 124 class standings.

| Drag Masters Hot Street
Bruce Croneberger of Cressona, PA is sweeping the Drag Masters Hot Street standings and he continued his hot streak at Rockingham Dragway.
Charles Cannon of Laurle Springs, NJ provided Croneberger with stiff competition when he took the No. 1 qualifying spot with a 10.20 a 124mph in front of Croneberger's 10.24 at 129mph.
On elimination day, the pair met in the final round where Croneberger out ran Cannon's 10.42 at 126mph with a 10.08 at 131mph for the win.

| Rucker Performance Super Gas
In the Rucker Performance Super Gas category, racers go up against a 9.70 index.
Mike Fitzgerald of Moore, SC found that number, dead on- with a 9.700 for the No.1 qualifying spot.
Fitzgerald stayed in the race until Don Stratton, Jr (#25 qualifier) of Beloit, OH took him out in the 3rd round and went on to the finals after beating Joey Talbott, the #4 qualifier in the semis.
On the other side, Tom Ocasio of Howell, NJ was qualified #11 and made his way to the finals to meet Stratton.
Ocasio found a nice reaction at .002 and ran under the number at 9.64 for the win, while a deep stage foul cost Stratton a chance at the trophy.
Bob Drapp of Winterhaven, FL leads the Super Gas standings, but in Rockingham he was out in the 3rd round after problems with the bike.

| S & S Super Sport
In the 10.30 index of S & S Super Sport, Jack Wagner of Escondido, CA was on top of the qualifying order with a 10.302 before a first round loss to John Burdynski.
It was Larry Maynhart of Swanton, OH and Danny Boyer of York, PA that made their way through the 24 entries for a final round match up.
Boyer went on to win with a 10.305 to a 10.22 break out from Maynhart.
Although Maynhart came up short for the win, he gained the lead in the points standings in one of the closest chases for championship points in the series.
Maynhart is just six points in front of Julia Holliday of N. Springfield, PA who is seeking a back-to-back championship title in the class.
The title will be decided in Vegas!

| Performance Corner Super Eliminator
Bill Rowe Jr. of Hellertown, PA clocked a 10.909 in the Performance Corner Super Eliminator class for the No. 1 qualifying spot against the 10.90 index.
Dean Druschel (#13 qualifier) of Swanton, OH ended the day for Rowe with a win in the semis while Bob Hoover defeated Scotty Hooper on the other side for his trip to the final against Druschel.
In the final, Druschel was near the mark with a 10.909 and grabbed the win over Hoover's 10.85.
Donnie Huffman of Lakeland, FL leads the championship standings that would mark his 3rd consecutive title in the class. Druschel who is 3rd in the current standings defeated Huffman in the opening round at Rockingham Dragway. Top qualifier, Bill Rowe Jr., is 2nd in the standings.

| Screamin' Eagle Performance
Eleanor Walker of Brandon, MS came away with a 11.505 for the No. 1 qualifying spot in the Screamin' Eagle Performance 11.50 index category before Liz Davis defeated her in the opening round of eliminations.
With nearly 40 riders chasing the win, it was Virginia's Joey Talbott (#13 qualifier) and Derek Christensen of York, PA (#3 qualifier) that battled it out in the final.
In the double break out final, it was Christensen's 11.46 that was good enough for the win over Talbott's 11.45.
Christensen took out the points leader Donnie Huffman in the opening round.
Dan DeGood who is a close 2nd in the standings was defeated in round No. 2 by J.P. Hendrzak who is currently 3rd in the standings.
The outcome of this one will also be decided in Vegas as Huffman seeks a double-championship title for a 2nd consecutive year and DeGood who is retiring from racing looks to end his year with another championship.

| ET Race of Champions sponsored by Pingel Enterprises
DeGood did leave Rockingham Dragway with a trophy however and a nice check for $2,500 in the first ET Race of Champions, sponsored by Pingel Enterprises. The race consisted of E.T. class winners from the 2006 season in a winner-take-all bracket race.
DeGood of Mt. Top, PA got by J.P. Hendrzak to take the top prize.

Syn3 ET
The Syn3 ET category drew close to 80 entries at Rockingham Dragway.
It was Chip Sutinen of Ypsilanti, MI that took the led the qualifying order with a .001 reaction time before Derek Christensen took him out in the 3rd round.
It was Shane Pendergrast and Bill Rowe Jr. that earned their way to the finals where a red-light foul put Rowe out early and Pendergrast took the win with an 11.33 on an 11.47 dial in.
J. P. Hendrzak of Monkton, MD leads the standings in the Syn3 ET category and Bob Drapp is 2nd.
 Derek Christensen competed in both ET and SEP and grabbed a win in SEP.

Nearly 400 competitors turned out for the Screamin' Eagle Performance Parts Nationals at Rockingham Dragway. It proved to be the quickest, fastest and toughest fields of the year. With the championship standings at stake, the JIMS Las Vegas Finals presented by Barnett Clutches on November 11th and 12th will prove to be a thrilling conclusion to the 2006 Screamin' Eagle Performance Parts Championship season.
