WINSTON-SALEM, NC, September 8, 2004 - AHDRA is fast approaching the season finale with this weekends first of three remaining 2004 events.
The stage is set for plenty of excitement at Indianapolis Raceway Park, the site of at least five national records at the 2003 AHDRA meet, including Steve Stordeur's 6.378 -220.58 mph Screamin' Eagle Nitro Harley record blast down the quarter mile.
Stordeur's 6.378 remains in tact heading into the Joker Machine Indy Nationals presented by Indianapolis Southside Harley-Davidson and the Goshen, OH rider also holds the top spot in the Screamin' Eagle Nitro Harley national points chase with reigning champ Doug Vancil (Albuquerque, NM) following closely in 2nd.
Stordeur and Vancil are one of many pairs competing under pressure this weekend with national titles, cash and prizes on the line in 14 classes of competition.
Geoff Arnold of Joker Machine returns to offer up the title role in AHDRA's 2nd appearance at Indianapolis Raceway Park, and presenting sponsor, Indianapolis Southside Harley-Davidson will lead off the pre-race activities on Thursday, September 9th (4:00-7:00p.m.) at the AHDRA Kick Start Party. The dealership is located at 4930 Southport Crossing Place in Indianapolis.
Racing gets underway at Indianapolis Raceway Park on Saturday with qualifying at 9:00a.m. and on Sunday opening ceremonies and eliminations begin at 12:30p.m.
Television crews from New Wave Video will be on hand to capture all the action for Speed Channels upcoming Lucas Oil "On the Edge" series for broadcast in the fall.
Admission is $40 for the weekend and single day passes are $25. H.O.G. members receive a $5 discount at the gate and children 11 and under are admitted free. AHDRA also offers free admission to all active military and reserve personnel with proper identification.
