DOUBLE WINS, A NATIONAL RECORD AND MORE AT AHDRA'S NORTHEAST STOP
Winston-Salem, NC, July 8, 2008 - AHDRA's Screamin' Eagle Performance Parts Championship Series completed the seventh race of the tour on June 29th in Rising Sun, MD.
The AHDRA Northeast Nationals Presented by Horne Concrete Construction and Structural Concrete ended with hometown flair when local racer, Douglas Horne took home the top prize in two categories of competition.
Horne, of Aberdeen, MD came into the event winless for the 2008 season. Prior to the event, Horne told his mother that he would love to get his first win of the season at Cecil County Dragway-and the 20 year-old got his wish plus the bonus when he came away with two of them!
Horne's first win of the day came in Screamin' Eagle Destroyer competition against his teammate, L.E. Tonglet. It was a great drag race between the two, but Horne had the early advantage with a better reaction time followed by a 9.25 at 143mph against a 9.28 at 142mph from Tonglet. Tonglet, of New Orleans, LA leads the national standings in the class in front of Nick Gonatas, Jr. of Youngstown, OH. Horne is now 3rd in the standings.

In Rush Pro Fuel, Horne took on the #1 qualifyer, David Poague of Manassas, VA. Poague, a newcomer in the nitro category, caught everyone by surprise with his clean performance over the weekend that left no evidence of his rookie status.
Both Poague and Horne were off their pace in the final, but Horne's 7.29 at 161mph was good enough for a win light over a 7.53 at 165mph from Poague. Horne's win in the Rush Pro Fuel category puts him at the top of the national points leader board and in the No. 3 spot in the Screamin' Eagle V-Rod Destroyer standings.
