Thursday, June 7th has been named AHDRA Nitro Night in celebration of the weekend of racing. Roeder Harley-Davidson (Sandusky location) will host a gigantic Nitro party at the dealership from 4:00-7:00pm. Custom Bike Builder, Kendall Johnson will be on hand for autograph sessions along with GoDaddy.com's Valerie Thompson and a host of other AHDRA racers.

There's more on AHDRA Nitro Night with activities in downtown Sandusky. Ohio favorite and 2005 Pro Fuel National Champion, Chris Streeter will appear with his nitro-powered ride for an autograph session. Streeter took the Pro Fuel event win in 2006 in Norwalk and hometown fans are eager to cheer him on for a repeat victory.

After all the pre-race excitement, fans should be geared up for racing at Summit Motorsports Park! Racing gets underway Saturday, June 9th with qualifying sessions beginning at 9:00am. On Sunday, June 10th, Sportsman eliminations begin at 9:00am and the Pro's take the track at 12:30pm.

Fans will see the best of the best on the quarter-mile dragstrip in sixteen classes of competition offered by AHDRA.

In Screamin' Eagle Top Fuel, the battle is heating up as racers strive for the coveted top spot in the national point's series. Last year's defending Norwalk event winner and 2-time defending Top Fuel National Champion, Mike Romine will be seeking his first win of the season, hoping to position himself for a 3rd championship title. Romine of Sturgis, MI is currently 6th in the standings.

Takeshi Shigematsu of Ehime, Japan finished runner-up to Romine last year in Norwalk, and with two wins under his belt already in the 2007 season, Shigematsu could make his move closer to the top (currently 4th) with a repeat trip to the finals at the upcoming event.

Shigematsu, coming off a win in Georgia (his 2nd of the season) is 4th in the standings.

Vancil heads to Norwalk, OH with the Top Fuel lead.

Heading to Summit Motorsports Park with the lead in Top Fuel competition is New Mexico's, Doug Vancil. Vancil, a former champion himself (in both IHRA and AHDRA) will surely be a force to be reckoned with in Norwalk, OH.

Vancil has both a win and runner-up finish on his scorecard this season and sits just three points ahead of 2nd place holder, Larry "Drums" Brancaccio who has also earned a winner and runner-up finish this year.

In the 3rd spot of the standings is Ohio native, Steve Stordeur who made history at the Norwalk facility several years ago by clocking the first "30" (6.38) in Top Fuel racing.

Stordeur, the 2004 National Champ earned a win earlier this season at Texas Motorplex and is undoubtedly hungry for another win - another championship- or perhaps a new national record! Current Top Fuel records are 6.236, set by point's leader, Doug Vancil and Jay Turner of Julian, NC has the speed record at 224.66mph. Turner is 5th in the Top Fuel standings and is the current leader in the Pro Fuel category.

Brancaccio trails Vancil by three points.

After a win in Texas, Stordeur is 3rd in the standings.

The leader board has changed several times already. Will we see a new leader and broken records at the Roeder Harley-Davidson Ohio Bike Week Nationals? Be sure to catch all the action at Summit Motorsports Park, June 9th and 10th.
