The two-time Screamin' Eagle Top Fuel National champion, Doug Vancil of Albuquerque, NM will compete at the Lonestar National's in Texas. After his win at AHDRA's recent appearance in Madison, IL - he is currently in the #2 spot in the 2008 points standings.
Mark Conner of St. Louis, MO who is also expected to compete at the upcoming race in Ennis, TX holds the #1 spot. Conner had the top spot on the charts after a win at the Florida season opener before Oregon's, Steve Dorn edged ahead by three marks at the 2nd event in Arizona. Heading into Texas, Dorn is now 3rd in the standings.
Less than twenty points separate the top three contenders, so fierce competition could shuffle the order once again at Texas Motorplex.
Tak Shigematsu (currently 8th in the Top Fuel standings) and the #2 plate-holder, put on an astounding performance at Gateway Int'l Raceway in April with a 230mph new Top Fuel record and a brand new Pro Fuel ET record number of 6.52. Could he go even faster in Texas? He will travel all the way from Ehime, Japan to compete and if repeats that remarkable performance - he'll be making a leap closer to the top of the order.

Racing at AHDRA's Lonestar Nationals presented by Kresto starts both days 9:00am.
Admission is $50 for a weekend pass and $30 for a single day pass. H.O.G. Members receive a $5 discount at the gate. Admission includes access to the pits. Children 11 and under are admitted free. AHDRA also offers free admission to active and reserve military personnel with valid I.D. Discount tickets are available at Longhorn Harley-Davidson located at 2830 West I-20, Grand Prairie, TX.
New at this year's event at Texas Motorplex will be camping availability. Campsites will be available Friday through Sunday for $25. Bring your family and friends and make it a full weekend of excitement!
