AHDRA BRINGS TWO WHEEL THUNDER TO TEXAS MOTORPLEX APRIL 23RD AND 24TH
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., April 13, 2005-The All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA) is headed to Texas Motorplex (Ennis, TX) April 23rd and 24th loaded with plenty of high-powered Harley excitement.
The Rucker Performance Lone Star Nationals Presented by Drag Specialties host one of the largest fields of Harley drag racers in the United States with 15 classes of competition including fire-breathing machines that travel down the quarter mile at over 200 miles per hour.
For the performance-savvy, AHDRA racing includes Harley-Davidson bikes straight from the street to the strip along with plenty of modified entries as well.
AHDRA enters its 28th year in drag racing in 2005, and AHDRA president Craig Tharpe says he anticipates it being the best year yet.
Spectating at an All Harley Drag Racing event doesn't just happen in the grandstands. Tharpe says fans are welcome to browse the pits and meet the racers to get an up-close look at the hundreds of bikes participating in the action.
Fans can also visit vendor row for all their favorite biker treats along with popular manufacturers.
New for the event in 2005 is the addition of the official H.O.G. Pit Stop at Texas Motorplex. H.O.G. members will receive a free pin and refreshments at the H.O.G. hospitality area with paid gate admission.
The weekend kicks off with a Nitro Party hosted by Rucker Performance at 5518 East Belnap, Ft. Worth TX. The party gets underway at 4:00pm and goes until 7:00pm. Bill Rucker and the staff at Rucker Performance will have plenty of entertainment, free food and AHDRA race bikes on display. For more information call 817-838-3200.
Racing at Texas Motorplex gets underway Saturday with qualifying at 9:00am.
On Sunday, sportsman eliminations begin at 9:00am and the Pros take the track at 12:30pm. Gates open both days at 8:00am.
Admission to the Rucker Performance Lone Star Nationals Presented by Drag Specialties is $25 for a single day or $40 for 2-days. H.O.G. members receive a $5 discount and Children 11 and under are admitted free.
AHDRA offers free admission for active military and reserve personnel with proper I.D.
