GAINESVILLE, FL, February 28, 2008 - The countdown clock is approaching the final hours that will signal the start of the 2008 All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA) season in Gainesville, FL.

AHDRA race officials arrived at Gainesville Raceway early this morning and by noon plenty of eager racers were filling the pits, unloading trailers and rolling out their racebikes in anticipation of tomorrow's first burnout and the first quarter-mile pass at the Screamin' Eagle Performance Parts Bike Week Nationals presented by Gainesville Harley-Davidson.

Although today's temperatures here at in Gainesville, FL are unseasonably chilly with barely a 50 degree high, the forecast calls for abundant sunshine and mid 70-degree numbers starting tomorrow and throughout the weekend of racing.

Also in the forecast is a huge contingent of competitors that will take the track here at Gainesville Raceway tomorrow with a round of qualifying for all classes beginning at 4:00pm.

A test and tune session will be held prior to the start of competition for AHDRA racers tomorrow beginning at 11:00am.

Presenting sponsor, Gainesville Harley-Davidson will also be on hand tomorrow to celebrate the season opener with a Nitro Party right here at the track starting at 5:00pm.

Gainesville Harley-Davidson will host live music, cold drinks and a chance to win a pair of tickets for all the racing action. It's all happening at the track so fans can enjoy the party and head on over to the grandstands to witness the opening round of AHDRA racing!

The dealership located at 4125 NW 97th Blvd in Gainesville is offering customers the opportunity to catch all of tomorrow's activities absolutely free simply by visiting the dealership to pick up a complimentary invitation. Spectators attending tomorrow's activities without the free coupon from Gainesville Harley-Davidson will pay $15 at the gate. The dealership will also have tickets for the entire weekend of racing available at a discounted price.

Following tomorrow's opening round of qualifying at the Screamin' Eagle Performance Parts Nationals Presented by Gainesville Harley-Davidson the qualifying continues on Saturday with two more rounds before Sunday's elimination's begin. Racing on Saturday and Sunday begins at 9:00am.

Admission is $50 for a weekend pass or $30 for a single day. The admission price includes pit access. H.O.G. members receive a $5 discount with a valid H.O.G. card. Admission is free for children 11 and under, and AHDRA offers free admission to active and reserve military personnel with valid identification.
