AHDRA SIGNS ESPN2 ("INSIDE DRAG RACING") TO BROADCAST 8 RACES IN 2003

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., February 9, 2003-AHDRA President, Craig Tharpe announced the signing of ESPN2's, "Inside Drag Racing" to televise eight (8) AHDRA events, beginning with the "The Screamin' Eagle Performance Parts Bike Week Nationals in Gainesville, FL on March 4th & 5th".

The half hour show will feature the track action, pit interviews, product and performance info, as well as a two minute segment available for sponsor and product features.

Tharpe says this is an enormous opportunity for the sanction, entering its 26th year. "ESPN2 is viewed in 84 million households nation wide", he added. "We've wanted this for a long time and the timing is right. We anticipate this year will be our best ever. The value of television coverage and the awareness it cultivates for our events is a giant step in getting the sport to the level of recognition it deserves".

Tharpe went on to explain that the races covered by ESPN2 would air on a 2-3 week delay. The Gainesville show will air on Saturday, March 29 at 2:00pm. "The weekend time periods are great", he explained. "We hope to get in on as many of those as possible. Each show will get at least two scheduled airings and may receive additional time slots according to availability. We will post the information as soon as the broadcast schedule is available".

The races slated for ESPN2 coverage are Gainesville, Rivera Engineering/Primo Belt Drives Arizona Bike Week Nationals in Phoenix, Atlanta, Roeder Harley-Davidson Nationals in Norwalk, Joker Machine Nitro Nationals in Indy, Budds Creek, Bristol and the "JIMS Las Vegas Nationals". The final show will be a wrap-up of the 2003 racing season.
