Elimination Day

5:30pm-Mike Lehman and SeattleÉa perfect match!  Lehman did it here at Pacific Raceways- after last weekendÕs NHRA Divisional win right here, he charges through the traps round after round and wins the Top Fuel and Pro Fuel category at this weekendÕs Kresto Pacific Nationals.  A happy Rex Harris and crew are lined up with a pair of bikes awaiting a celebration in the winnerÕs circle right now.

More celebrationÕs in the winnerÕs circle include.. Phil Schmidt who blazed the quarter mile in the Pro Drag final one thousandth in front of the national record for the win with a 7.218 at 186.12mph over John Breckenridge who was strong all day.

A record setting weekend for Raudenbush in Pro Stock ((7.339) and he grabs the win in the final after a disappointed Mark Biernbaum was unable to keep it fired.

More prize money and points for Mike Lozano in Pro Gas with another win as Ed Biaggi takes home the runner-up cash on his birthday here in Seattle.

Only a 2nd loss of the season for champion, Junior Pippin and it was Doug Ainsworth blowing the field away this weekend with record marks in Pro Mod.  His best marks of the weekend were recorded at 8.130 at  162.22 mph.

Travis Lummus falls to Jeff King after the Gene Lummus ride shut down to coasting speed at mid track.  King wins with a 9.333 at 148.09.  Lummus took the low E.T. honors and top speed prior to that final with an 8.925 at 151.32mph lap.

Michael Ray is the winner in the SSC124 Challenge over Robbie McCaaÉThe #1 qualifyer, Cleve McConnell came away with the Hot Street prize over double-finalist, Dan Norlin..

Dan Hope redlit and gave Jeff Farnum a win to take back to California in Super Sport..as did Brett DeGood who saw red and Greg Krenik got the win light and he will share a ride home celebration with teammate, Wayne Pugh who also got the easy win after a red light from Donnie Huffman n SEP racing.

Huffman rebounded with a win in Super Eliminator over Rick Baldwin with a near perfect 10.906.

Larry Edmondson left before activating the tree and a record setting weekend ended in V-Rod racing for Jamie McNaughton with a win to add along with those records..

Tommy Loredo was the ET winning rider after a red light from Dan Norlin.

Thanks to everyone for a fantastic weekend of racing..we would especially like to thank ChildrenÕs Ride 10 for choosing the AHDRA event for their destination for the 1,700 riders who got a well deserved show here today and to our sponsors, Kresto, Downtown, Destination and Eastside Harley-Davidson dealers.

Good Night Seattle.

4:30pm

We are moments away from the semis in ET and then itÕs time for the finals.  We do have a 5:30pm curfew here at Pacific Raceways, so we should be wrapped up in an hour.

Exciting finishes coming up with at least two double finalist on deck.. Donnie Huffman and Dan Norlin on the Sportsman side and itÕs Mike Lehamn headed to double finals in Fuel categories.

More coming on todayÕs finish!

Sunday- 10:00am

Good morning from Pacific Raceways.  We are underway with a couple of sportsman rounds to narrow the fields before todayÕs start at 1:00pm. (PT).

We start a little later today due to the arrival of the awaited ChildrenÕs Ride 10.  ItÕs a big celebration for the ChildrenÕs Hospital as they reach the 10- year mark of the generous support from many.  TodayÕs ride will be escorted in by bike builder favorites, Paul Yaffe and Arlen Ness.  They are expected to arrive around 11:00am and will be 1000-plus strong as they thunder down the return road here at Pacific Raceways.

We will be back this afternoon with updates from todayÕs opening round.

Qualifying Day

7:45pm-

All three rounds complete and what a finish.

Here goes my spillÉ.

Lehman RULES in Seattle  X 2ÉHis best pass of the day in JIMS Pro Fuel came in the final round at 6.837 and the best was yet to come when he blistered the track in theScreaminÕ Eagle Top Fuel field at 6.458 for the top spot .

ÒLet them eat cakeÓ.  And they will indeed at the Ray Price-Samson Exhaust camp as they celebrate PriceÕs 68th birthday.  His gift from Tommy GrimesÉHeÕs in the field with a 3rd round survival lap at 6.673, and the last chance round gave him the 4th spot.

Vancil finished in the 3rd spot with a speedy 216.72 top speed of the day on the charts.

Lozano and Wagner keep it 1 & 2 in S & S Pro Gas and Raudenbush reigned in the S & S Pro Stock trio of bikes.

McNaughton backed up his numbers..reset them and backed them up again..or something like that.  His best of the day was 9.382 at 141.02mph for the lead position in ScreaminÕ Eagle V-Rod. (Records are always subject to the verification process).

Jeff King holds on to his #1 spot in G2 Street Pro but it was Lummus getting the rebound with a move to the 2nd spot with a 9.113 improved run.

Doug Ainsworth is chopping up the records in Samson Pro Modified with a 8.130 at 160.75- He is also subject to proper verifications before official records go down.

Michael Ray was out-running SternottiÕs numbers today and he has the S & S 124 Challenge pole after three rounds with a 9.549 best.

Joe Rodrigues was near perfect in Rucker Performance Super Gas and his 9.701 puts him in the top spot for tomorrows show.

Champion of the class- David Hope is out front in S & S Super Sport.

GalatiÕs 10.930 edges out the 10.932 from Kuypers and a 10.933 from Cleve McConnell in Performance Corner Super Eliminator, but McConnell got his #1 spot in the Drag Masters Hot Street field. McConnell nearly came away with the Syn3 ET best of the day, but a perfect 0.000 from Spence Jones of Portland, OR gave him the spot over McConnellÕs 0.016.  And last but certainly not leastÉÒChefÓ Donnie Huffman holds the SEP #1 spot.

ThatÕs a wrap under sunny skies here in Seattle.  We will be back tomorrow with all the action from eliminations.

Good night SeattleÉ.

5:55pm

Final Qualifying on tap.  Amazingly we started 4 hours late, but few delays have kept us running smoothly and less than 2 hours behind the normal final round. The sun is shining bright for todayÕs final round of qualifying which is underway with sportsman classes.

Great things happening on the track and forgive me if I canÕt mention them all as IÕm trying to keep the numbers posted rapidly- but here are a few highlights-

Dale Raudenbush is out fon in Pro Stock with his 7.46 best..Mike Lozano is running the numbers in Pro Gas, but the award for achievement in the round is Karen Wagner giving it another shot for her license.  She adds a 8.315 to her rounds today and it put her in the #2 spot in the field of 8-bikes.  Congratulations to AHDRAÕs first time female natonal champion, we received confirmation from tech that your license has been approved.

Mike Lehman dropped to the 2nd spot in Pro Fuel when Pat Fenderson took his spot with a 6.961 better time, but in Top Fuel, Lehman bumped Dorn with a nice 6.560.  Vancil goth things working for his 2nd round and he moves from the outside of the field to the 3rd spot.

John Breckenridge took over the Pro Drag spot in round twoÉMcNaughton backed up his earlier record pass in V-Rod with a bettered record number of 9.382 that he now plans to back up.

Jeff King leaps in front of the pack in Street Pro and leads the field with a 9.099.

Stay tuned for the big finish and all the numbers coming up shortly.

3:30pm

Round One goes off smoothly and we are rolling on with round two.

A Black Attack roared through the Nitro Harley field as Steve Dorn scored the top numbers of the opening round at 6.648 at 207.72mph.

Mike Lehman was 2nd best in Top Fuel (6.834), but he was first in the Pro Fuel field with  6.989 best.  Lehman is fresh off a divisional event here last weekend where he took home a Wally.  (He allows visitors to peek at it in his motorhome, but no touching)!

Ray Price is celebrating his 68th birthday this weekend and depending on rider Tommy Grimes to make it a real celebration here this weekend.  Grimes ran into problems in the first round when it got sideways with him at the launch, but heÕs got two more shots at making the field today.

Ainsworth is at it again in Pro Mod with a 8.185 best- just enough to better his current record number of 8.186.  HeÕs the top man so far with the champ-Pippin in at #2 with a 8.454.

Rod Anderson stormed the Pro Drag field with a 7.491 at 171.66mph top qualifying spot over Phil SchmidtÕs 7.531 for the 2nd spot and a 7.578 from Herschberger for third.

Jamie McNaughton lit the record numbers in V-Rod with a 9.483 and looking to back it up for the official mark.

ThereÕs lots going of exciting numbers in all classes and several nice numbers from both ladies and men in sportsman classes..check the numbers out on the result pages in your favorite class.

Back to the numbers.  IÕll check back in with breaking news in round two.

1:00pm-

Looks like we will be firing up any minute now with qualifying round one.  Syn3 ET will lead off a muchdelayed start to our day here at Pacific Raceways.   We have a record number of racers that turned out for this event- 180 so far.  (130 is the usual count) so kick back with your favorite beverage and join us for an unplanned evening of racing.

All the results will follow the rounds right here on ahdra.com.

11:00am

The sun is peaking through the clouds and the track team is making progress on the track drying.  There is still a good hour or more of work ahead before we are up and running so stay tuned for the kick off in qualifying asap.

9:20am

Good morning from Pacific Raceways.  We were greeted with misting rain this morning, enough to put a good soaking on the track.  Track staff is hard at it trying to dry the surface, but a small mist is still present.  The forecast calls for clearing and a little sunshine for the afternoon.

Stand-by as we await todayÕs start in qualifying.
