The FinaleÉSunday at the JIMS Las Vegas Nationals:

Mike Romine repeats the ScreaminÕ Eagle Nitro Harley Championship title and picks up $25,000 tomorrow night at the AHDRA Championship Awards Banquet!

Although most Championships were certainly locked up earlier in the day, we will complete all result calculations overnight in preparation for tomorrowÕs banquet before official postings of the final standings in all classes of competition.

What a night of celebration here at the JIMS Las Vegas Nationals!

Bill and Armon Furr were not the only father and son celebrating in the winnerÕs circle- Brett DeGood rode his Super Gas entry to the winnerÕs circle- a fitting conclusion for his family on their final outing together with his father, Dan racing.  We will miss you Dan and LinnÉcome visit often!!!

Both LisaÕs of AHDRA will be working away to prepare for tomorrow nightÕs AHDRA Night of Champions at SamÕs Town Hotel and Gambling Hall.

We will get a complete listing of Championship results out for you as soon as we return to AHDRA Headquarters.

On behalf of Lisa McHone and myself, (Lisa Cranfill), we appreciate all of you that followed our Live Race Updates during the season and also thank-you for your patience during any delays in getting your results to you.  We will be back for more in Gainesville!

See you in 2007!!

The Finale CompletedÉI am still typing numbers but breaking news ÉThe FurrÕs have pulled off the double- father/son Nitro category victories!!

Stay tuned for all the final results from the JIMS Las Vegas Nationals!!!

4:40pm

Breaking News-

We reported Armon Furr ÒunofficiallyÓ wrapped up a championship, but according to the numbers, if John Breckenridge backs up his earlier 6.55 record pass, the 20-pointÕs could give him the title.

Stay tuned for the Pro Fuel Championship deciding final round soon!

And thereÕs not just one Furr going to the final..thereÕs TWO.  Bill Furr gets to the final in Top Fuel and will take on Tommy Grimes and the Ray Price-Samson Racing team who are plenty consistent today.

Furr advanced after Tak ShigematsuÕs bike malfunctioned when firing- leaving the #1 qualifier disappointed.  However, Shigematsu brought the bike out for the Barnett Outlaw class and runs a 6.36 moments later for the low E.T. of the event!!!

We are finishing up the semis and the exciting finishes in all classes are coming up!!

3:30pm

The 2nd session of eliminations underway with the ProÕs!

In Top Fuel, although Mike Romine was upset in the opening round, he will be celebrating a repeat championship on the stage at SamÕs Town Monday night!

Romine was taken out by Steve Dorn on the Latus H-D sponsored bike on his heroic return to racing following his Texas accident.  Dorn will take on Tommy Grimes in the semi final round.  Grimes who needed at least one round win today to move into the 4th spot did just that.  In addition to his top 4 finish, Grimes will be awarded the NHRA Nitro Harley exhibition Championship trophy at tomorrow nightÕs banquet.

Bill Furr got by Doug Vancil in round two in the upset win which will pair Furr and #1 qualifyer, Tak Shigematsu in the final.

Bill is likely more thrilled with ArmonÕs Pro Fuel round win than his own.

Armon has ÒunofficiallyÓ locked up his National Championship with his Pro Fuel round win over reigning champ, Chris Streeter with a nice 6.79 at 187mph.

Armon Furr will go head-to-head with John Breckenridge in todayÕs final.

Breckenridge just clocked a 6.553..a record in Pro Fuel and hopes to back it up in the final.

We will continue on the ladder pages with todayÕs results at an exciting season finale here at The Strip!!

2:00pm

EliminationÕs are moving along smoothly with only a brief delay so far for a oil down in Street Pro.  We are up to date on the ladder pages so tune in their for all of todayÕs results.

Good morning everyone from The Strip.  The skies are sunny under breezy and chilly 50 degree temps.  The sportsman bikes are on the track to narrow their huge fields down to sixteen before we kick off with opening ceremonies at 12:30pm today.

It was a long day of qualifying as can be expected at the final race of the year –and one that netted us our largest bike entry total in history.  Over 400 bikes participated yesterday.

With that came the normal breakage and track clean-ups that sent us way into the late night for the 3rd and final round.

Also participating in yesterdayÕs qualifying was the Discovery ChannelÕs Biker Build Off Series.  While many may grumble that it caused delays- we couldnÕt have purchased the exposure that this opportunity brought forth.

Jonathan Levy, producer/director of Biker Build-Off was elated with the entire show yesterday and stated at the end of the day that it was absolutely the most exciting Build-Off he has filmed.  The talent and excitement that our racers brought out yesterday blew the builders along with the entire crew away. ÒAbsolutely incredibleÓ, was a common reaction from them.  They have asked for a chance to participate at more events, which is certainly exciting news for the sport.

Today..itÕs all racing as we prepare to crown the 2006 National Champions!  It all comes down to todayÕs big show for many categories to decide their fate in the pointÕs battle.

Follow todayÕs results on the ladder pages and as always, we will check back here with breaking news or delays.

I apologize for the limited commentary happening on this page..but with the outcome of the Championship pointÕs standings on the line, we are calculating and preparing for tomorrow nightÕs Awards Banquet, which understandably limits chat time.  However, we will keep punching the numbers in for you all day and bring you the results as quickly as we can.

Stay tuned for todayÕs exciting show from the JIMS Las Vegas Nationals!

Saturday- Qualifying at the JIMS Las Vegas Nationals.

Another late night at The Strip, but all sessions are now complete.

Join us tomorrow for eliminationÕs from the JIMS Las Vegas Nationals!

6:35pm

2nd round of Syn3 ET followed by the V-Rod Destroyer category on the track now and then we will return to ProÕs for their 3rd and final round.  Following the ProÕs all sportsman classes will run to finish out their 3-rounds.

**Syn3 ET round two update:  Vince Giannotta still on top with his .000, but Hyper Liz Davis improved with a move from #12 to #2 with a .001 and Dan Brummet clocked a .002 reaction for the 3rd spot-moving Donnie Huffman to the 4th spot with his round one .005.  Stan Sheppard rounded out the top five with a .008.

Stay tuned for results as the rounds are completed.

4:11pm

Only in VegasÉor so it seems the agony of delays seem inevitable.

WeÕve had a little bit of everything, from timing foam block replacements, oil, a timing malfunction and during one of the Biker Build Off rounds, the rider (Gard Hollinger) popped a shoulder out of socket but is reported to be repaired and coming back for his final round.  WeÕve even had a delay for a few showers, but we are making our way through round two of Pro Qualifying here at The Strip where the temps are a chilly 60 degrees and as the evening is upon us, it will surely drop several more degrees.

We have a huge field of ProÕs and a gigantic sportsman turnout and lots more racing left today.

**We apologize for the delays in posting the results.  We are busy with the Discovery Channel shoot today and typing results any chance we get, so thank you in advance for your patience.  Any missing results will be posted at the conclusion of todayÕs qualifying.

3:00pm

A very long first round has been completed and the ScreaminÕ Eagle High Stakes Shoot Out has a new champion!

Mike Sizemore took home the cool $12,000 and Dan Norlin (who has taken home the top prize before) took home the $3,000 2nd prize.

We will head right back into 2nd round of Pro qualifying and resume Sportsman qualifying as well.
