ScreaminÕ Eagle Performance Parts Race At The Rally
Sturgis Bike Week
August 7th & 8th
1/8th mile Non-Points Event
Elimination Day at Sturgis-
9:00pm-
We are all wrapped up with racing here at Sturgis Dragway at the Screamin Eagle Performance Parts Race at the Rally. It was a gigantic success for all and most of all it was a safe weekend on the track.
We will be back next weekend with the S & S Cycle Thunder In the Valley Nationals presented by Smith Brothers Harley-Davidson.
Good night from Sturgis Bike Week
7:14pm-
Eliminations running along here at Sturgis Dragway. The ladder pages are being updated frequently as possible, and we will have all the results in all classes posted at the end of tonightÕs racing. Bare in mind that some classes only have a pair of competitors, so they will not run until final round. The stands filled up here at Sturgis Dragway and they are still hanging in there for tonightÕs finals.
Stay tuned for all the results on the ladder pages.
ItÕs 4:00pm and time to start, but the spectator gate is backed up with eagar fans waiting to get in. A HUGE turnout coming through the gate and we donÕt want anyone to miss the show..we are covered with every media outlet from Australia to the US here..so we will be focusing on putting the show on here at Sturgis. IÕll make every effort to get over to the keyboard here and update you on the competition.
Qualifying Day- Sunday
HereÕs how the numbers left the competition lined up for tomorrows eliminations beginning at 4:00pm. Willie G..and entourage will be here, along with more noise from the V-Rod Destroyers and great racing for the approving crowd. Join us for the action tomorrow. Good night from Sturgis Dragway.

(8:31pm)Check out the round two order results right here on this page. We will begin the final round of qualifying for the Pros shortly.
Fans, racers and anyone here at Sturgis Dragway were treated to a historical moment you might say, as the Harley-Davidson Motor Company delivered a pair of the new V-Rod Destroyer race bikes here to Sturgis Dragway for all eyes to view. Not only did they get to see the Destroyers, they saw NHRA Pro Stock Champion Andrew Hines and teammate GT Tonglet roll them to the starting line for a huge burnout followed by a coast down the track.
Hines and Tonglet were not allowed to actually race each other on the demo- as they have an upcoming run with NHRA,which prohibits racing prior to that event. No worries though- the crowd loved every minute of the burnouts and the roar from the brand new machines that have to be ordered by tomorrow. Anne Paluso says if your thinking about getting one- check with your local dealer and tell them you want one of these bikes. The first initial production order deadline is tomorrow- August 8th.
AHDRA will have a Destroyer in tow for display at the remaining 2005 season events. Check them out!

4:38pm-
Qualifying has begun here at Sturgis Dragway. With a limited staff here at the Dragway, I am putting most of my efforts into keeping the tower timing computers operating for the race- which will limit the number of reports today. Once things get to a smooth running level- we will be back with updates for you.
A good crowd is here for todayÕs qualifying under skies that have tuned partly cloudy with a few sprinkles earlier. The sportsman bikes are in opening round of qualifying at this time. Stay tune for updates later on this weekendÕs non-points event.
Good afternoon from Sturgis Dragway. ItÕs just after noon here under hot steamy skies. A repeat of Budds Creek you could say.
Close to 100 racers braved the mileage to compete here at the ScreaminÕ Eagle Performance Parts Race at the Rally which is set to begin with qualifying runs at 4:00pm.
At least 8 Screamin Eagle Nitro Harleys teched in- with Jay Tuner and Ken Kent among those here. Turner is here with 2-bikes and will be deciding on his classes of choice shortly. (Perhaps analyzing the competition first?) Mike Bahnmaier pulled out 3 bikes himself at last nights test session, and we will wait to see whatÕs heÕs got in store on his entry card as well.
PointÕs leader in the Syn3 ET category, Dan DeGood and Rucker Performance Super Gas championship leader, Brett DeGood are here to give it a try on the 1/8th mile for the cash.
The DeGoodÕs are threw a little racing into the plans here at Sturgis when they were invited to attend the ceremonies honoring Jim & Phyllis McClure. The McClureÕs will be inducted into the Sturgis Hall of Fame on Wednesday morning. IÕm sure you will all join me in giving a special thought to Jim & Phyllis on this much deserved honor.
IÕll be back with the updates here following the opening rounds at 4:00pm. Advance notice..this is NOT a compulink system here at Sturgis Dragway, so bare with me as I work to get our results configured from this system.
It looks like the first 2 rounds of qualifying will be posted here on this news page as the current set-up does not properly sort 1/8th mile info.
Back with more later.
Schedule of Events

**Please note that qualifying updates will be listed here on this page instead of the normal qualifying link. The elimination ladders on Monday will be found on the usual eliminations link).
