here at the Gypsy Rendezvous Nationals.
Check out the results for your
favorite class on the ladder pages.
2:35pm- EliminationÕs are moving right
along. Sorry for the delayed Round
posting. We got booted off of our
own internet box with too many visitors on the facility using our remote
connection. Craig has managed to
clear them out and we are back up and running so stay tuned for some round two
numbers when we get underway shortly.
ProÕs fired up at 12:40pm for Round One.
2nd round of ProÕs scheduled at 2:30pm.
Round One Updates!
We are fired up and running here at Gateway IntÕl Raceway
under much warmer skies
today.
Opening round of Top Fuel is in the books with Romine advancing over
Griz Robinson with a 6.50 at 214mph.
Joe Sternotti
blistered the track at 6.43-211mph to advance over Steve Dorn.
Steve Stordeur
was upset by Bob MalloyÕs quick ET of the meet so far..6.34 at 211mph. (Malloy made a huge comeback after
torching heads in Fridays test and tune).
Bill Furr
(6.89) upsets Jay TurnerÕs troubled 10.21.
YesterdayÕs lane of choice was the left lane, but today it
seems to have lost something as many who chose the lane have found it
unforgiving today. Tommy Grimes
was one of them after losing his opening round against Kevin Boyer.
Tracy Kile advanced on a solo pass after a no-show Phil
Schmidt. Schmidt was involved in a
scary top end accident yesterday that he remarkably walked away from with
scrapes. Not so fortunate was the
bike which suffered heavy damage after Schmidt came off of it and the Top Fuel
bike continued down the track and had hard impact with the hay past the sand.
Incredible for all that saw Schmidt head towards the wall on
the pass and after coming off the bike- jumped right up and climbed over the
wall to greet the arriving EMTÕs.
In other opening round Top Fuel action- Drums Brancaccio
will be back for round two after advancing over Joe Timmons and Tak Shigematsu
got by Doug Vancil. Shigematsu
clocked a 6.50 at 213mph while Vancil struggled with a 12.09.
We are continuing with opening round of the ProÕs and
Stephanie is keeping the keyboards hot with all your results.
WeÕll be back with any breaking
news or delays from the Gypsy Rendezvous Nationals!
Good morning from Gateway IntÕl Raceway. The skies are sunny and forecast calls
for temperatures in the 80Õs today.
We are underway with some early sportsman rounds to narrow the fields
for the start of todayÕs show at 12:30pm.
Follow all of todayÕs show on
the ladder pages for your favorite class on AHDRAÕs Live Update pages.
Qualifying Day at Gateway IntÕl Raceway

Good night from Gateway.
Final Qualifying Updates (Sportsman)
Super Gas: The 9.70Õs were in abundance today and it will be
James SurberÕs 9.702 that will get the top spot. The champ, Bob Drapp took #2

the perfect mark himself with a 11.506.
Destroyer: L.E.
Tonglet hangs on to #1 and Valerie Thompson takes her #2 spot back after
flopping positions with Julia Holliday who is now 3rd. Douglas Horne stayed #4.
Twenty-three riders entered
qualifying today.
The Syn3 ET leader board changed
leaders in all three rounds and at the end of the day, it is Jenifer Russell
from right here in St. Louis that will take the top spot at the end of the day
with a near perfect .001!
Sixty-One entries battled for the spot today, and the local young lady
comes away with it for her hometown crowd.
Final Round Qualifying updates (ProÕs):
6:10pm

track now as we draw closer to a wrap on todayÕs qualifying. Stephanie Druschel is hammering at the

#1 qualifyer Romine gets in the 30Õs again to end the day.
Vancil has problems on his final pass of the day.
Steve Stordeur hits the .000 perfect reaction on a nice 6.40
pass and the top speed of the day at 222mph!
Jay Turner runs his best of the day-6.44
WeÕve got one more bike to go- but on hold for a track clean
up.
WeÕll be back with ya asap!
Pro Stock-
Pippin flies (8.09) just barely off the record mark owned by
Matt Smith at 8.06 to maintain the #1 qualifying spot!
4:50pm
Pro Fuel- Armon Furr has been blistering the ¼ mile
all day and in the 3rd and final round he comes out with a 6.585
(close to TurnerÕs record 6.580) but it was the MPH that could go in the record
books. Furr clocked a 215mph on
the pass bettering the current 211mph number that Turner holds. Furr will still need to back that number
up to take the official record from Turner.
Turner is is in the 2nd spot with his 6.700 best
of the day.
Pro Gas-
Feazell goes fastest in his final (7.27) and finishes the
day on the Thiels Wheels-Jon Miller bike #1.
4:30pm-
WeÕve got the go signal from the track crew and we are back
in action. So far Street Pro and
Pro Mod have completed their rounds for the day.
Pro Mod
Greg Krenik held on to his #1 spot in the Pro Mod category
heading into tomorrowÕs eliminationÕs.
Next up Pro Drag-
Sonny Burres leads off the field with his 3rd
license pass of the day. Burres
who is familiar to many a member of Steve DornÕs crew during his Pro Drag and
Pro Mod championship seasons has decided at the age of 71..thatÕs right 71 to
take up riding himself with aspirations of the Òrookie of the yearÓ. Burres best of the day was a 8.17 and
word has now come from tech officials that he will indeed be licensed for
competition. (Burres finished the day in the #5 spot)
#1 qualifyer Rick Moore ran his best of the day in the final
(7.53) and Greg Byrnes runs his best as well and takes the #2 spot with a 7.73
best in the 3rd.
Kersten Heling is bumped out of the field after Scott Truett gets in the
show on his last chance session with a 8.18 for the #6 spot.
4:15pm
A pause for cause in the Pro final round. Seems the track needs the right lane
needs a little more attention. WeÕll be back at it shortly.
McCaaÕs Street Pro
Simon stays #1 based on his earlier 8.63. (He clocked
another 8 sec pass in the final with a 8.75) and King doesnÕt improve after
coasting through the beam and will stay #2.
Pro Qualifying Update: (round 2)
3:50pm-
The sportsman classes have now
all completed a 2nd session and that means we are set to begin the 3rd
and final round of the day for all classes at 4:00pm. The ProÕs will start off the final qualifying session and
the sportsman will wrap us up.
WeÕll bring you the results from all the classes at the end of the
round!
3:20pm
Top Fuel:
Romine and Grimes are still #1 and #2 after round one 30Õs,
Drums is still 3rd and Tak Shigematsu moves up the field to the 4th
spot with a 6.46 at 214mph. Jay
Turner had problems in the Top Fuel opening round, but gets in the field nicely
in the 2nd round with a 6.48.
Sixteen bikes are in the field currently. Steve Dorn and Joe Timmons were paired during the 2nd
round and an unexplained snafu with the lights left them with no times on
otherwise clean runs- so the pair are offered reruns later in the day if they
choose to do so.
We are back in sportsman action now to wrap up their
remaining classes in the round two session. The Pro final session of the day is scheduled for 4:00pm.
Pro Stock:
Pippin is still #1 with the 8.15 and Beltramini stays #2
(8.26), while OJ Marinelli takes the #3 spot (8.37) from Shaun Reno who is now
4th with a 8.40.

maintains the #1 spot, and Douglas Horne improves and hits the six second zone
(6.78 at 205mph)-moving from #6 to #2.
Chris StreeterÕs 6.89 didnÕt improve his position and he stays #3. John Breckenridge had problems in the
opening round but gets down the track with a nice 6.87 in round two for the 4th
spot. Jay Turner is 5th
with a 6.90 , Herschberger has a 6.96 for the 6th spot and rounding
out a field full of sixes was Randal Andras with a 6.96.

Feazell is still #1 after 2 rounds with his 7.43, Mike
Nelson stays 2nd (7.60) and Marcum improves his numbers in the 2nd
round with a 8.30 and stays 3rd. Mike Lozano was at the bottom of the pack after round one
with a troubled run, but gets down the track this time with a 8.44 for the 4th
spot.

Rick Moore was off to a sluggish start at the launch but
gets back in it and grabs the #1 spot with a 7.69 at 173mph- bumping Rocky
Jackson, from #1 to #2.
Samson Pro Modified:
Greg Krenik takes over the #1 spot (8.86)-moving from the 3rd
spot. Randy Borho moved from the 4th spot to #2 with a 8.882 edging out the
spot from Stephen Galati, the leader from round one,who did not run this round
but is now 3rd with his earlier 8.887.
Street Pro:
Simon slows to a 9.06 in round two, but hangs on to the top spot with
his earlier 8.63 at 158.67mph.
Jeff King doesnÕt improve either, but is No. 2 with his 9.03 followed by
a wheel stand from Zach Johnson that slowed him to a 9.38, but keeps him 3rd
with his 9.07 from round one.
2:00pm
A few track prep details underway and then we are headed
into the Pro action with Street Pro competition. We are a half hour off schedule with the earlier oil down,
so sportsman fans, stand by, we well get back to the 2nd round of
those remaining classes waiting for their 2nd round asap.
Stay tuned for results from the
ProÕs 2nd round shortly.
1:45pm
Destroyer Qualifying Round 2 Update: Tonglet held on to the top spot with the
9.15, and Julia Holliday jumped from the last spot to the #2 spot with a 9.287
moving the earlier #2 holder, Valerie Thompson, to third with a 9.302
best. Douglas Horne is 4th
from his 9.330 in the first round. Horne had problems in the 2nd
round with a shaky launch before getting out of it.
We are now in the SEP 2nd
round and will head over to the Pros shortly.
Hot Street News- Bruce
Croneberger flexed his championship power in round two and grabs the #1 spot
from Burdynski with a 10.31.
Burdynski had the top spot in first round with a 10.32 and slowed in the
2nd round to a 10.34.

us. We have an oil clean-up
currently underway (a large one) just barely into the V-Rod Destroyer 2nd
round.
L.E. Tonglet is the man to beat currently in the Destroyer
field with a 9.15 best.
In Syn3 ET, Dan Hope took over the top spot in the 2nd
round with a .004. Hope got the
spot from Chip Sutinen who had the spot after first round with a .016.

Destroyers 2nd round.
Looks like we will now need to interrupt remaining sportsman
