The Finals are complete from Firebird Raceway with upsets in the headlines as the celebrations begin in the winner’s circle.

Stordeur wins again.  Steve Stordeur has back to back wins to start the 04 season after a good match-up with Mike Romine in the final round of Screamin’ Eagle Nitro Harley.  Stordeur won with a 6.624 at 210.44 over Romine’s 6.877 at 183.89 miles-per-hour.

Charlie Walker made three final round appearances in Sportsman categories, but came away with only one of the wins. Walker wasn’t disappointed however, just surprised to have made it that far.  Walker says he deserved to be there in a couple of classes and just by chance in the other two when referring to his semi-quad round.

Dan Degood makes double final rounds (again) and comes away with the Syn3 E.T. win after a red-light in the SEP category.

Sue Bistline and Karen Stubbs scored final round appearances for the girls and settled for 2nd place finishes after giving the competition a good battle all day.

Tripp Nobles was upset by Matt Guidera in Screamin’ Eagle V-Rod competition.  Guidera’s .002 and 9.975 was plenty enough to take the V-Rod Champion out after his .124, 10.123.

John Martin pulled a big upset on Jack Romine who had a pair of six- second runs over the weekend in JIM’s Pro Fuel.  Crew Chief for Martin, Ray Phipps was joking before the run about the outcome of the final with the veteran rider, but wished only to give Romine a good race.  “It is a honor to race a professional to the sport like Romine”, Phipps added.  “We just wanted to give him a good race”.  A good race indeed.  Romine lost a belt somewhere after the eighth mile.  According to Martin, that was about the point he thought he had him (Romine).  “But you never know until you see that light at the end,” Martin happily added.

This was John Martin and the Aces and Eight team’s second final round appearance in the Pro Fuel category in just two years of competing, and the Ohio based team scored wins at both of the finals.

Steve Stute handed Travis Lummus an easy win in Rivera-Primo Street Pro with a red-light for the Oregon rider and Dirk Higgins had a easy ride to the winner’s circle in S & S Pro Stock after Chris Rivas sputtered off the line.  Scott Truett returned to the track after an auto accident just several weeks earlier, but the injuries didn’t keep him from the Kresto Pro Drag win.

More coming up on www.ahdra.com and the next issue of Speed Magazine from the Rivera-Primo Arizona Bike Week Nationals Presented by Chandler and Arrowhead Harley-Davidson dealers.

Thanks to everyone for supporting this weekend’s event.
