AHDRA Ohio Bike Week Nationals

Presented by The Harley-Davidson Dealers of Northern Ohio

June 6-7, 2009

5:45pm The last bikes have gone done the track.  What an exciting and heartfelt weekend here in Norwalk, OH.  As some of you may remember, 3 years ago at this track we lost Josh Tharpe, son of President, Craig Tharpe.  Please keep his family in your prayers because as time passes, the pain is always there even though we must go on without him.

We will be heading to Kansas City, MO in a couple weeks so stay tuned as the points chase continues with the AHDRA ScreaminŐ Eagle Performance Parts Championship Series.

5:00pm

We are starting the finals and all ladders are finally current.  We certainly are hoping that the rain will hold off for another 45 minutes or so to get this all done.

Semi Finals

Top Fuel-Joey Sternotti sets a new MPH record with a 231.99!!!!!

2:30pm

2nd round of Top Fuel is up again.

Sternotti and Schmidt have an excellent run with Joey running a new mph record and will advance and needs to back up during the next round.0

12:30pm  Opening ceremonies are over and racing is under way.

In Top Fuel

Rickey House and Phil Schmidt were the first pair down the track and wow, Phil seems to have some problems and Ricky ends up with a red light give the win to Phil.

Tak Shigematsu is up against Julian Seaman and both have a great run but it would be Tak that will take the win.

Mike Romine and Bill Furr are up next and again another great run, Mike will advance with the win.

Robert Stewart and Derrick Nelson. Derrick would have some problems and the win will go to Robert.

Steve Dorn and Tracy Kile were next.  Steve would have small problems and the win would go to Tracy.

Tommy Grimes and Chris Streeter are next and another great run, but it would be Tommy that gets the win.

Joey Sternotti would get a Bye run since Bob Malloy broke and did not show.

Last up is Jay Turner and John Breckenridge. John would red light giving the win to Jay.

Check out the ladders on our website of your favorite racers through out the day and donŐt forget about the live timing system through Summit Motorsports at : http://www.1320go.com/summit/livetiming.php

June 7th Sunday

Good morning from Norwalk, OH.  We had a wonderful day of racing yesterday and today is expected to be just as great.   They have predicted some rÉ showers later this afternoon but as we all know we just donŐt like to mention that r word (rain).

We had a confirmed record set in the AHDRA SSC124 class.  Mike Roberts of Bandit Racing set the new ET record at 8.971 and also the new MPH at 147.17.  We are waiting to confirm another record-breaking run in the Destroyer class from Nick Gonatas Jr.

Just a reminder about the live timing system that is offered through the Summit Racing Motorsports Park at: http://www.1320go.com/summit/livetiming.php.

Have a great Sunday and stay with us for all the excitement of the AHDRA Ohio Bike Week Nationals.

Good afternoon,

We have started 2nd round of sportsman qualifying.  We had a great exhibition run by Roland Morrison running a 1200cc Harley Davidson Powered Steetluge.  He ran a 13.688 at 110.05 and had the crowd on their feet as he was lying on his back with his feet in front of him just 1.5 inches off the ground.

I have found out that there is a live timing system here at Norwalk.  You can actually check out all your racer as they go down the track.  Check it out : http://www.1320go.com/summit/livetiming.php
