AHDRA -Joker Machine Indy Nationals
Good Morning from Indianapolis Raceway Park. (IRP) Pleasant sunny skies and cool temperatures as Sportsman qualifying is just getting underway. Race entries looking good, so far and the track is in great shape. Plenty of six second passes took place in last night's test and tune, including a 6.74 at 210mph for Drums Brancaccio, and putting on a real show last night, Charlie Karling, all the way from Sweden with his Blower Bike. Karling's first pass was a 6.71 in last night's practice session. and brought the racers from the pits to the stands with plenty of noise.
Karling is thrilled to compete in the U.S, and he will face plenty of tough competition here today. So far teched in today, it's Vancil, RMC Racing with three bikes, plus Conner, Bill Furr, Team Mancuso, Chicago Joe, Steve Moore, Tommy Sloan,
Greg Grove, Doc Hopkins and more coming up into today's Screamin' Eagle Nitro Harley field. Stay tuned for qualifying action following round one later this morning.
Qualifying is still underway and getting quicker and faster ..so far Vancil is the #1 man in Nitro Harley with a 6.54 at 216.58mph..Dean Comunal blasts down the 1/4 mile with a 6.58..Karling and the Sweden team comes out with a 6.63 and the bikes are still in the lanes with more action coming.
In other action- Mark Conner flies in JIMS Pro Fuel with a 6.65 at 205.13mph..Chris Streeter is back, but had problems in the first round.
Tom Bradford betters his own Pro Stock record with a 7.31 at 178.26mph!

Check out Rivera Primo Street Pro numbers for Travis Lummus- 9.136 at 147.09. Not yet backed up, but Lummus has all complete confidence it will happen. In Joker Machine Pro Modified Junior Pippin is in the #1 spot with a 8.512..that's two #1 spots for the Gene Lummus H-D team..and Daddy Gene is back home working..message to Dad- the boys are doing well!

Round Two still underway- and a National record is in the books for Tom Bradford in Pro Stock after his 7.332 pass, backing up his 7.318, which is a new record for the Hal's H-D team!
Screamin' Eagle Nitro Harley is out on the track and Steve Stordeur takes the #1 spot so far with a 6.43 with a record mph pass of 217.49. Mancuso makes in in the field in the 6.80's after a round one DQ for crossing the center line. We are now on hold while timing equipment is being replaced, but more action coming right up.

After timing cones were taken out by Dean Comunal, it allows another run for Jay Turner who was in the opposite lane and had to abort his run. Turner is riding for DJ Johnson on the bike normally piloted by Tak Shigematsu. Johnson offered up the jockey position to Turner for the weekend after Bobbie Buckley's Team Bulldog bike was unable to make the trip due to Hurricane damage in Virginia. Steve Stordeur holds the #1 spot currenty with a 6.43. More coming.

Elimination Update:
2nd round is underway and provided the best action of the year in Screamin" Eagle Nitro Harley...Stordeur and Furr went at it side by side all the way and it was Stordeur getting the win light with a 6.459 at 193.85 while Furr ran a 6.498 at 215.00mph. Drums Brancaccio and Doug Vancil followed and Brancaccio upset Vancil with a 6.501 at 215.72 while Vancil ran his own 215.03, but the 6.604 wasn't enough. Mancuso advanced over Romine(6.645) with a 6.492 and the Sweden team has plenty of fans in the stands and the pits and advance to the semi's after a 6.568 over Dean Comunal.
Karling made the trip from Sweden and is having a great weekend on the 113ci blower bike.

Tripp Nobles makes the quickest pass of the day for the new E.T. record of 9.572 in Screamin' Eagle V-Rod.
One with the win and the other with the record..a familiar scenerio in Rivera Primo Street Pro. This time it's Morrow in the winners circle and Lummus still holds record titles.
Paul Smith broke in the final and Junior Pippin wins in Joker Machine Pro Modified.
Mike Mulderink shines in Kresto Pro Drag all weekend and wins the trophy.
Upsetting final for Champion Frank Dove when he is unable to get his bike together for the Hayes Jewelers Pro Gas Final and Gary Stroud rides to a solo win.
The Aces and 8's were wild in JIMS Pro Fuel after John Martin wins over Sam White.
Bradford wins with record marks over the weekend in S & S Pro Stock, while Higgins scores more points for the championship with a runner -up finish.
