SPECTACULAR SEASON FINALE EXPECTED AS THE ALL HARLEY DRAG RACING ASSOCIATION HEADS TO ROCKINGHAM, NC, FOR THE SCREAMIN' EAGLE JIM MUCLURE NATIONALS

October 10-11 Rockingham Dragway

Pfafftown, NC, October 1, 2009 - The All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA) ) will be headed to Rockingham Dragway (known as "The Rock") for the Screamin' Eagle Jim McClure Nationals on October 10th and 11th.

As AHDRA headquarters prepares for the exciting season finale with less than a week to go, the racers are working on any last adjustments and tuning that need to be done on their bikes before heading to Rockingham and giving fans a spectacular show.

In past years, the championship points standing contest has come down to two or occasionally three riders. Most cannot recall, however, when there have been so many in three different classes (Screamin' Eagle Top Fuel, AHDRA Super Sport, and Syn3 ET) with a shot at the championship title at the very last race of the season.

In the Screamin' Eagle Top Fuel class, the competition is fierce. Five different winners at the sanctioned points events in the Top Fuel class means five different contenders for the national championship, leaving the stage wide open for the taking of the title. Not only will winning the race be a factor in claiming the title, but also how the racer qualifies will play an important role.

Jay Turner from Julian, NC, started off the season as the point's leader; after many battles throughout the year, he'll go into the final race still holding the lead at 372 points. Steve Dorn from Milwaukie, OR, is currently third in points (20 points behind with a win in Kansas City) and was #1 qualifier in St. Louis. Joey Sternotti from West Collingswood Heights, NJ, is 29 points behind, but has been #1 qualifier at four different events. Both Dorn and Sternotti have battled with Turner over the lead all season long.

The current national champion, Phil Schmidt from Orangevale, CA, is trying to defend his title and is 67 points behind Turner, along with John Breckenridge from Sultan, WA, who is 71 points behind.

In Rush Pro Fuel, Randal Andras from Amelia, LA, is holding the lead by 78 points over Chris Streeter from Cleveland, OH. Streeter has made some tuning adjustments and captured his first win of the season in Woodburn, OR. He hopes to do it again at The Rock. Don't count out Tommy Sloan from Piedmont, SC, though. Sloan had a win in Bristol and is in third place. He could still come back and stir things up.

In Rush Pro Gas, Rick Moore from Reading, PA, is your current leader with 369 points over Jay Wagner from Warsaw, IN, with 322 points. Dale Raudenbush from Macungie, PA, is in third place with 236 points; he plans to attend and shack up the points chase.

The Verve Pro Stock class has the tightest chase in the Pro classes, with a difference of only 17 points between first and second. Mark Venia from Toledo, OH, is leading with 505 points over Shaun Reno from Hayes, VA, with 488 points. These two racers have been going head to head all season long-but it will be the one who qualifies better and goes the farthest who goes home with the championship title.

In AHDRA Street Pro, two more racers have been battling it out all season long: Mike Roberts from Clinton, OH, who is leading with 465 points, and Lou Gerencer from Elkhart, IN, who has 427 points.

The Pros are not the only ones who chase a championship title. Some of the Sportsman classes this year are also joining in with exciting action!

In AHDRA Super Sport, a 10.30 index class, six racers are in the hunt for the national championship title. Donnie Huffman from Lakeland, FL, is in the lead by only 6 points over the current national champion, Dean Druschel from Swanton, OH. This is not only the tightest race for the title in the AHDRA Screamin' Eagle Championship Series, but also is expected to be one of the most exciting Sportsman classes competing at The Rock.

Both Huffman and Druschel are previous national champions and know how to get the job done, but four other racers will do their best to keep the two from another championship title. Shawn Duch from Reynoldsburg, OH, is 82 points behind and is in third place; David Israel from Lima, NY, is 90 points behind and is in fourth place; Mark Colburn from Reynoldsburg, OH, is 107 points behind and is in fifth place; and Chris Hoppe is 113 points behind and is in sixth place.

In Syn3 ET class, five racers are chasing down the current national champion, Bob Drapp from Winter Haven, FL, who is leading with 401 points. Dean Druschel from Swanton, OH, is only 39 points behind Drapp in second place. Druschel said, "Beside Dan DeGood, Drapp is one of the best ET racers out there and is going to be tough competition. I use ET class as a practice class to dial in my bike on Sunday morning-I can't believe I actually won at Bristol in the ET class and now have a chance at winning the championship title. No matter what, the weekend is going to be a lot of fun!"

Donnie Huffman from Lakeland, FL, is 53 points behind in third place; Brad Croneberger from Valley View, PA, is 91 points behind in fourth place; and Jimmy McMillan from Deland, FL, is 99 points behind in fifth place.

Other competitors expected to compete at Rockingham Dragway with clinched 2009 National Championships include AHDRA Pro Drag champion Chuck Jones from St. Petersburg, FL; AHDRA 124 Challenge champion Mike Roberts from Clinton, OH; and AHDRA Hot Street champion Bruce Croneberger III from Cressona, PA.
