AHDRA BRINGS TWO WHEEL THUNDER BACK TO FAMOSO RACEWAY ON MAY 14TH & 15TH
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., May 9, 2005-The All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA) is returning to Bakersfield, CA for a 2nd year with plenty of fast competition on tap.
The S & S Cycle California Nationals presented by Drag Specialties will host 15 categories of racing at Famoso Raceway including the fire-breathing nitro-methane powered Screamin' Eagle Top Fuel Harleys.
The national standings are expected to shuffle in the Top Fuel category this weekend, with current leader, Drums Brancaccio sitting out the west coast meet.
Also, sitting out the action this weekend is champion, Steve Stordeur after a big end crash at Texas Motorplex in April. Stordeur is still recovering at his home in Ohio. He is in the 2nd spot currently, while teammate and bike owner, Johnny Mancuso rounds out the 3rd spot.
With the top 3 leaders absent in California, the stakes are high for veteran champ, Doug Vancil of Albuquerque, NM and a rapidly rising competitor-Tracy Kile of Hatsfield, PA who is getting his name on the top half of the standings early in 05.
Kile and Vancil make up the 5th and 6th spots respectively entering the Famoso event. Mike Romine of Sturgis, MI holds the 4th spot, and will take a break this weekend from several weeks of travel to prepare for the upcoming eastern event at Atlanta Dragway.

In the JIMS Pro Fuel category, a mere 2-points separate leader Chris Streeter of Cleveland, Oh and Mike Lehman of W. Palm Beach, FL. Both riders are expected in California for a side-by-side battle for the top spot.
Fans can expect to see that match-up and plenty more in all 15 classes of competition at the S & S Cycle California Nationals presented by Drag Specialties.
The weekend kicks off with a Nitro Party hosted by Bakersfield Harley-Davidson on Friday, May 13th. The party gets underway at 3:00pm and goes until 6:00pm.

Racing at Famoso Raceway gets underway Saturday with qualifying at 9:00am.
On Sunday, eliminations begin at 12:30pm. Gates open both days at 8:00am.
Admission to the S & S California Nationals Presented by Drag Specialties is $25 for a single day or $40 for 2-days. H.O.G. members receive a $5 discount and Children 11 and under are admitted free. Discount tickets are available at Bakersfield Harley-Davidson and Seveirs Auto Supply in Delano, CA.
AHDRA offers free admission for active military and reserve personnel with proper I.D.
