The Champ- Romine taking on a former Champ and a
contender for the 2007 title..Vancil..they pull to the line and Romine pulls
ahead early after Vancil has problems-RomineÕs final number 6.423 at 212mph!
JIMS Pro Fuel
Turner blows big smoke from the tires and ends his run
early as Randal Andras grabs his first Pro Fuel win in AHDRA racing!
S & S Pro Stock
Greg Krenik wins this one on a holeshot over James
Surber.
Rush Pro Gas
Junior Pippin falls off the pace early, but Chip Ellis
blisters the ¼ mile for the win with a 6.87 at 193mph!
Kresto Pro Drag
Rick Moore charges ahead for the win and in the pointÕs
standings with this victory over Mike Nolen.
Samson Pro Modified
Borho runs another record setting pass (8.55) and takes
his 2nd consecutive win.
Borho defeated Tom Hannum in the final.
McCaaÕs Street Pro
Andy Simons gets his 2nd consecutive win with
a victory over Zach Johnson.
ScreaminÕ Eagle V-Rod
Gerencer gets the double victory at The Rock with a win
over J.P. Hendrak.
S & S 124 Challenge
Gerencer gets the win in one of two finals so far. Gerencer defeats Mike Motto in this one
and will make the hot lap back around for his V-Rod final.

Larry Maynhart gets the win after a breakout from Charley
Douglass.
Rucker Performance Super Gas
Chuck Kennedy wins over Dan Lesnock.

Valerie Thompson advances on a bye (9.25). She will take on Douglas Horne in the
final who advanced with a 9.246 over Ronnie FensickÕs 9.283.

Chip Sutinen upsets Charlie Walker and heads to the
final. He will take on J.P.
Hendrak who three others (so far) making double finals today! Bill Rowe Jr. nails a .001 at the tree
but Hendrzak hangs on for the win light.
Drag Masters Hot Street
Michael Ray resets the record once again (9.759) and
heads to the final against Charley Douglass whoÕs 10.000 beats the red light
from Charles Cannon.
S & S 124 Challenge
ItÕs Gerencer headed to a 2nd final after
advancing on a bye- he will take on Mike Motto who advance over Mike
Roberts. Motto ran a 9.97 to a
10.199 from Roberts.
Pingel Super Eliminator
Curtis Talbott heads to the final (11.05) after a red
light from Kevin Winters. Talbott
will race Henry Provenzano in the final after his win (11.132) over Bill Rowe
Jr.Õs 11.136.
S & S Super Sport
Charley Douglass and Stacey McMillan-Douglass runs a
10.329 and gets the win over a 10.358 from McMillan. Douglass gets Larry Maynhart in the final who won with a
10.726 over a 10.601 from David Loepke.
ScreaminÕ Eagle V-Rod
Lou Gerencer advances on the bye and will take on JP
Hendrak in the final who advanced over Mike Roberts. HendrakÕs reaction a .105
to a .191 from Roberts and itÕs a holeshot win with a 9.65 from Roberts and a
9.68 from Hendrzak.
Rucker Performance Super Gas
Jim Sweet and Dan Lesnock- Sweet qualifies No. 1 here
this weekend for his first time but he ends his rounds with a 9.67 against a
9.68 from Lesnock.
Lesnock will take on Chuck Kennedy in the final who got
by Chris Seper.
McCaaÕs Street Pro
Andy Simon and Danny Worth- Simon uses up a lot of track
for this one a the launch but gets the win with a 8.71 over a 9.03 from Worth.
Zach Johnson advances on the bye to race Simon in the
final with a 8.78.
Samson Pro Modified
Greg Krenik and Randy Borho- Match up of the day!
Ten pointÕs separate the two- both broke records here
today-and Borho resets the record 8.587 and gets the win over KrenikÕs
8.65. Borho will take on Tom
Hannum in the final who advanced on the bye just breaking the beam to save it
for the final.
Kresto Pro Drag
Sonny Burres and Mike Nolen- Red light for Burres and
Nolen heads to the final with a 7.506.
Kersten Heling and Rick Moore-Great drag race and itÕs
the champ-Moore going to the final with a 7.48 win over a 7.83 from Heling.
Rush Pro Gas
Junior Pippin gets to the finals with a 7.168 after a
surprising red light from Dave Feazell.
Pippin will take on AHDRA record-setting (6.880-192mph)- Chip Ellis who
advanced on a bye with another impressive 6.90 at 192mph!
JIMS Pro Fuel
Jake Stordeur struggles on this one and Randal Andras
advances with a 7.097.
He will take on Jay Tuner who advanced (6.842) after a
redlight from Chris Streeter!
Turner continues his perfect final round streak in Pro Fuel!
S & S Pro Stock
Greg Krenik advances to the finals on a bye run with a
8.24 score.
James Surber and Shaun Reno-Surber gets by Reno with a
8.274 to RenoÕs 8.329.
It will be Krenik and Surber in the final.
ScreaminÕ Eagle Top Fuel
Doug Vancil and Tommy Grimes- Good race and good effort
by Grimes with a 6.66 but VancilÕs 6.44 gets him to the finals!
Joey Sternotti and Mike
Romine-Sternotti has problems on the run and Mike Romine gets down the strip
with a 6.44 and the reigning champ will take on Vancil in the final!

Semi Final rounds coming up shortly!

Round two of the ProÕs on the track.
Doug Vancil earns more points in his favor after taking
out Jay Turner. Vancil smoked the
tire but gets the easy win after Turner gets the red light.
Jake Stordeur and Tommy Grimes both boiled the tires, but
it was Grimes getting to the win light.
In the closest match of the round. Joey Sternotti and
Phil Schmidt paired up and Sternotti gets with win light with a 6.40 to a 6.50
from Schmidt.
The final pairing gets Mike Romine another round after a
red light from Bob Malloy. Romine had his own problems own the run and only
managed a 7.75.

Drag Masters Hot Street
Michael Ray chops the record again (9.866) this
time. Ray takes the seat on the
bike owned by Lenny Wisniewski-the same bike that
Richard Gadson rode in Virginia to set record numbers.
The
ProÕs coming back up around 3:00pm.
1:30pm
Elimination Update- Greg
Krenik breaks the Pro Modified record with a 8.609-he holds the record for
about one minute..and out comes Randy Borho who answers with a 8.589! BorhoÕs record heading into the weekend
was a 8.623 from Woodburn Dragstrip.
Stay tuned to see how this battle for the record AND the #1 spot comes
out today!
Eliminations are running full force with plenty of
action- and possibly our biggest crowd yet at Rockingham Dragway!
The show kicked off with ScreaminÕ Eagle Top Fuel upsets
and plenty of six- second action.
For Tak Shigematsu, he will watch the rest of the race today from the
stands after being upset by Jake Stordeur in the opener. Shigematsu ran a troubled 8.03 to a
successful 6.82 at 197mph from Stordeur.
Jake, (son of Steve Stordeur) is doing double nitro duty here this
weekend and will be back for round two in both Top Fuel and Pro Fuel.
More from Top Fuel Opener..Shigematsu will be keeping his
eyes on Doug Vancil and Jay Turner.
Both of them advanced to the next round and with the points standings
closer than ever- the outcome of this one is indeed important!
Best numbers from The Rock so far this weekend..VancilÕs
6.25 qualifying pass and a 216mph lap from Mike Romine!
Early morning sportsman rounds underway at The Rock! We will be underway with opening
ceremonies and the first round of Pro Eliminations at 12:30pm!

ScreaminÕ Eagle Top Fuel
Doug Vancil rockets to the top of the chart with a 6.258
at 212mph!! Sternotti moves to #2
with his 6.34 round one best.
Several
others run their best with the sun behind the grandstands and the temperatures
perfect. Romine runs a 6.36..Tak
Shigematsu and Dean Comunal both run 6.38Õs! Incredible final round!
S & S Pro Stock
Krenik grabs double #1 qualifying honors here at The
Rock! KrenikÕs best of the day in
Pro Stock is 8.142 and his 8.681 earned him the Pro Mod honor!
JIMS Pro Fuel
John Breckenridge pulls out a 6.588 at 198mph-his best
shot of the day and he takes over the #1 spot at the end of the day!
Rush Pro Gas
Chip Ellis resets both records..his final lap a 6.941 at
192.06mph! He is the #1
qualifyer! Junior Pippin runs his
best of the day (7.158-182mph) in the final lap and finishes the day in the #2
spot.
Kresto Pro Drag
Sonny Burres returns to the starting line once again in
his rookie year with his 7.466 best.
Herschberger stays #2 with his 7.637 and reigning champ Rick Moore is 3rd
with his improved 7.651 final lap.
Samson Pro Modified
Greg Krenik saves his best for last and takes the #1 spot
with a 8.681. Tom Hannum moves to
the #2 spot. Randy Borho ran his
best of the day in this round (8.761) and he is 3rd at the end of
the day.
McCaaÕs Street Pro
Andy SimonÕs 8.627 from round #1 stays in the top
position and Zach JohnsonÕs 8.746 stays in tact for the #2 spot. Danny Worth improved his number (9.083)
and stays 3rd.
Rucker Performance Super Gas
Jim Sweet takes over the #1 spot with a 9.706 moving
Daniel Pennisi to the #2 spot and Wanda Poff is now 3rd (was 13th ) after a better 9.710.
ScreaminÕ Eagle V-Rod
No changes in the final round for the leader-Lou Gerencer
who stays #1 with his 9.295 best and Edmondson stays #2 with his 9.576.
S & S Super Sport
Derek Christensen and Joey Talbott stay #1 and #2 with a
10.306 and a 10.307.
38 entries ran in the class today leaving six bikes out
of the 32 bike field.
Drag Masters Hot Street
Michael Ray comes out to The Rock and takes the record
(9.823) and the #1 spot.
Charles Cannon is #2 with a 9.997 best.
Pingel Super Eliminator
New name in the category- David Higgs of Ormond Beach,
FL. Higgs comes out in the final
round and clocks a 10.900 for the #1 spot . Gary Bass (another new name) takes #2 with a 10.902 and Lane
Boger (not a new name) gets near perfect himself with a 10.908 for the 3rd
spot.
SSC 124
Gerencer stays #1 and Chris Sansevere stays #2 and
improves his number with a 9.825 in the final round.
SEP
Kevin Winters stays #1 with his 11.507 and for the
pointÕs leader, Dan Norlin- he cushions his lead with a few extra points with a
#2 qualifying finish today. Norlin moved from #20 to #2 with a 11.510 in the
final round. 40 bikes competed in
the class today leaving 8 bikes out of the field.
ScreaminÕ Eagle Destroyer
L.E. TongletÕs 9.106 holds out for all three rounds for
the #1 spot and no one bettered Julia HollidayÕs 9.147 for the #2 spot.

Donnie Huffman takes the starting line tomorrow for #1
qualifying honors with his .003 reaction.
Brad Croneberger came close with a .004 for the #2 spot, and Bryan
Lewallen got a .008 for 3rd, while Don Meehen earned a .009 for the
4th spot rounding out the 00Õs in ET rounds. A total of 80 entries entered
qualifying today in the category.

Round 2 complete in all classes- and we are set to start
the 3rd and final round of the day!

Joey SternottiÕs 6.340 is still good enough for the #1
spot, but Vancil is making a move with an improved 6.344 in his 2nd
round. ItÕs Sternotti and Vancil
#1 and #2 and one round to go.
Still trying to make the field is Bill Furr and Sam White.
S & S Pro Stock
Krenik stays #1 with his round one number (8.142). Pippin gets down the track in this
round, but not in his normal form.
HeÕs currently 7th with a 8.34.
JIMS Pro Fuel
Streeter keeps #1 with his 6.777 from round one. Turner and Horne stay #2 and #3.
Armon Furr goes boom in the box in round #2. No injury but plenty of frustration!
Rush Pro Gas
Chip Ellis has enough to back up the record after a 6.96
in round #2. Ellis has the new
record with a 6.946.
Kresto Pro Drag
Sonny Burres still on top (7.466) and Willie Herschberger
moves from the #8 spot to #2 with his better 7.637 in round #2.
Samson Pro Mod
Tom Hannum still keeping the top two pointÕs leaders
(Borho & Krenik) out of the top spot.
Hannum did not improve in round #2, but is still #1 with a 8.740.
McCaaÕs Street Pro
Andy Simon slows his pace, but maintains the top spot

L.E. Tonglet holds on to #1 with his earlier 9.106 and
Julia Holliday stays 2nd with her 9.147 best.

Donnie Huffman takes over the top spot with a .003
reaction in ET qualifying. Huffman
held the top spot in SEP after round #1 with a 11.51, but missed out on the
double #1 spots after Kevin Winters took over the SEP #1 spot in the 2nd
round with a 11.507.

After a smooth opening round of qualifying for all
classes, we are underway with qualifying round two of sportsman classes.

Joey Sternotti on the Ray Price/Samson machine set the
pace in Top Fuel with a 6.340 at 211mph- a personal best for the Blackwood, NJ
rider. Sternotti has more than his
best lap ever to celebrate..news has it that he and his long time girlfriend,
Rose were recently married.
Congratulations to the happy couple.
Chris Streeter is back on his game in JIMS Pro Fuel with
a 6.777 opener for the #1 spot.
Sonny Burres takes the #1 spot in Kresto Pro Drag with a
7.466 at 161mph.
Chip Ellis is no doubt on the top of the Rush Performance
Pro Gas chart after his 6.946 record pass!
Tom Hannum gets the pole in Samson Pro Mod with a 8.740
at 144mph.
Andy Simon having another great weekend back in the
saddle of his McCaaÕs Street Pro ride- heÕs the #1 qualifyer with a 8.627
followed by 8 second numbers from pointÕs leader Zach Johnson in the #2 spot
with a 8.775.
Junior Pippin had problems on
his opening lap in S & S Pro Stock and has to shut if off early and itÕs
Greg Krenik taking the top spot after round one with a 8.142 at 155mph.

Chip Ellis competing here in Pro Gas and opens the
session with a record 6.946!
Ellis bettered his own record (7.063) set in Gainesville
in 06.

rounds are complete. The track
staff is doing track touch-ups and we will be underway with the ProÕs shortly!

DragMasters Hot Street: Michael Ray comes off the trailer with
a 9.823-bettering Richard GadsonÕs record (9.866) set in Virginia. Stay tuned to see if Ray can back up
that opening number later today!
Good morning!
We are up and running at The Rock!! The weather is perfect-sunny skies and mid 70 temperatures
on tap today. Sportsman qualifying
is underway and the ProÕs are due to take the track at 11:00am.
Over 300 entries on the roster so far. Last nightÕs test and tune brought out
large participation as even the fuel bikes made numerous passes during the
session.
Rockingham Dragway President, Steve Earwood told racers
that they could expect the best track surface of the year right here at The
Rock,
For Doug Vancil, he found that the track may indeed be in
good shape after his 6.33 at 204mph (best pass of the day) in the practice
session.
